Org charts
Map your team, org, or reporting lines in a clean diagram anyone can read, and update it in seconds when the org changes.
An org chart (organizational chart) shows how an organization is structured: who holds which role, who reports to whom, and how teams relate. One of the earliest known examples was created in 1855 under Daniel McCallum, general superintendent of the New York and Erie Railroad, to manage a large railroad operation. *(The current page says "late 1800s," which is inaccurate.)*
Org charts are used to communicate hierarchy, clarify ownership, and plan headcount. Mermaid builds org charts with a top-down flowchart: each person or role is a node, each line is a reporting relationship, and subgraphs group people into teams or departments. Because the chart is text, a new hire or a reorg is a quick edit, and the change history is easy to track.
Map a client’s organization to understand decision-making, stakeholder influence, and team dynamics.
One shared canvas for mapping ideas, collaborating live, and keeping teams on the same page, literally.
