Introducing a New Home for Mermaid: Mermaid.ai

Mermaid has grown a lot over the years — from a simple way to turn text into diagrams to a product teams rely on for documentation, collaboration, and AI-powered workflows. As the product has evolved, so has how people use it.
Today, we’re taking an important step forward: Mermaid is now available at mermaid.ai.
What’s changing
We’re transitioning from mermaidchart.com to mermaid.ai as Mermaid’s new home.
For now, both domains work — your diagrams, projects, links, and workflows all stay the same. When you’re ready, you’ll see an in-app banner inviting you to switch to the new domain.
Over time, mermaidchart.com will be phased out and mermaid.ai will become the primary way to access Mermaid.
Why we’re making this change
Our community now uses Mermaid for much more than charts — from architecture diagrams to documentation, open-source projects, and AI-assisted creation. The new domain gives us a unified home that better reflects what Mermaid is today and creates space for what’s coming next.
Moving to mermaid.ai helps us:
- Present a clearer identity for the product
- Better support AI-powered capabilities
- Create a more intuitive place to start (and continue) your journey with Mermaid, including our open-source ecosystem
What you need to know
Starting today, you can access Mermaid at https://mermaid.ai. Both domains are active during the transition, and nothing about your workspace changes. You’re not required to switch immediately — this gives you time to transition when it works for you.
